QUESTION:
i have a canadian property that will be going into foreclosure. I am a dual citizen living in the US. Will this efect my US credit rating. What are the implications for me in Canada? thanks, H.
david ingram replies:
Unless the property is in Alberta, the Canadian mortgage holder can pursue you in the US for any deficiency.
It will affect your US credit rating when they do.
If the property is in Alberta, it would be unusual for it to show up on your US credit report.
