This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment My question is: Canadian-specific QUESTION: My wife and I are buying our first house. We intend to use Home Buyers Plan to withdraw $20,000 from each of our RRSP's to use as a down payment. We both qualify for this plan. My wife will withdraw $15,000 from a regular RRSP and $5,000 from a spousal RRSP for which she is the annuitant and I am the contributor. All funds have been in all the RRSP accounts for more than 90 days. All contributions to the spousal RRSP have been made within the last 3 years. Will the withdrawal of $5000 from my wife's spousal RRSP under the Home Buyers Plan trigger a tax bill for me because I am the contributor to this plan? --------------------------------------------------------------------------- david ingram replies: Withdrawl from a Spousal RRSP under the Home Buyer's Plan does NOT trigger a Tax bill unless you do not pay 1/15th a year back over the next 15 years. Congratulations on buying your first house.
