QUESTION: I recently purchased airline tickets from vancouver to malaysia for myself my wife and my son.We are traveling via hong kong and kota kinabalu in malaysia.My question is regarding the names in our passports.When booking the tickets I gave my full name (including my middle name)but in hindsight I discovered that my passport only lists my first and last name. Also with my son who carries my first name as his middle name (hense the confusion for me)I ommited his middle name on the tickets but his middle nam is on his passport.I also made a similar mistake on one of my wifes tickets, ommiting her middle name. My wife is convinced that these differences between ticket names and passpot names will possibly cause some problems with immigration in the countrys we are travelling through. I was told by one source that as long as the first and last names match with the ticket and passports that the ommission or inclusion of the middle names become inconsequencial. My wife is determined that I change all the tickets at a considerable charge to us in order to avoid any possible problems. Please advise on this matter. There are a dozen agencies checking airline manifests looking for bad guys. The more names on the tickets, the less chance that you will be picked out as the wrong person. Another David Ingram and I used to fly back and forth to Ottawa on a regular basis. Both Air Canada and CP Air managed to mess up our reservations at different times. We ended up always booking as David ? Ingram or David G T Ingram. Today, I would use David Glenn Towers Ingram because that is what my passport says and I doubt if there is another of those around. But as another matter of interest, there are five david ingram persons presently incarcerated in North American Jails.
