I am not sure what you mean by welcome office calls.
I answer 5 to 10 out of 50 questions I get a day for "free" if
they seem interesting enough or I have decided to answer every
5th or every 10th question as a method of selection. If I have
not answered a question for any reason and some really wants to
get an answer, they would be charged $400 for a consultation
whether it was fifteen minutes or 50 minutes. Any question I do
not answer has their name added to the Q & A list and hopefully
will get their question answered sometime when the same question
is answered later. I will usually only answer one free question
per person.
I charge $400 for a phone consultation. During April, those are
usually scheduled for the evening because my time is usually
booked all day long with clients. There is rarely any time to
take a strange call from Feb 1 to the end of June. On the other
hand, I am usually quite accessible from the start of July to the
end of January.
And on the "other" other hand I do take short question calls from
existing clients while with others. This may seem rude but
actually seems to be a trade off.
Because I am usually busy, If I did not answer the quick calls
when with someone, they would never get answered. AND, the
client who has been interrupted realizes that if he phones and
really needs an answer right now (because they are at the bank,
caught at the border, trying to arrange a mortgage, etc.) they
can request to be put through if important.
On the other hand, I hope that they only make such a request if
they need the answer right now.
Clients are welcome to call me from 10 in the morning to 10 at
night seven days a week. I would rather a client phoned me at 3
PM or 7 PM on Sunday night then wait until Monday morning because
I have appointments all day Monday.
I have no answering machines. You have to try again if there is
no answer. If you do leave a message and I have not called back
in a day. You have to call again. Some days I have received 52
non-client messages. It is impossible to call people back.
This email, for instance is one of over 500 received today and I
am answering it after midnight because it gives me a chance to
express how I try and deal with clients and strangers.
Then - on the last Sunday of every month, I am available to take
phone calls on 600AM - CKBD radio - at 9:00 AM as follows:
