I have 2 clients in Montreal (American residents) working for a
Montreal firm. They stay in a hotel while there. They got T4/Rel 1
with 000-000-000 for SIN!
They have been unable to obtain a SIN at the Dorval gov't office!
First they were told they were not eligible. I told them to go back.
Now they are told yes maybe, but we can't do it for you. What the hell
is up with that? Is it the normal Quebecers hate Americans or what?
How do visa workers in Canada get SINs?

They file the return with no number. CRA sends a request for them to
get a number. They go to SIN office and one is issued. change was
just before Dec 17th when they changed the ITIN rules.
