QUESTION:
A child born in 1963, USA, of American father & Canadian mother, has lived
in Canada since 1964 but never registered. She has an American passport,
wants to apply for Canadian citizenship and retain US citizenship. As there
is plenty of mis-information between governments, agencies, border
crossings, and internet, what is correct procedure? Does she have automatic
citizenship through mother and apply for a passport? or Apply for
citizenship?

Anyone is welcome to comment here.
If the child was born after Feb 14, 1977, she is a Canadian Citizen
automatically but her birth has to be accepted and registered as a child
born abroad.
She has to apply through Sydney, Nova Scotia. The Application is at:

If she was born before that, she is not an automatic citizen and should
contact CIC and apply for citizenship after (I think) a year's residence in
Canada..
