QUESTION:
Hello
I am a Canadian citizen and my wife is a Thai national. We moved back to
Canada just over a year ago and she has applied for Canadian status. I
having trouble finding out what she (as a new Canadian is intitled too). We
are not concerned about money issues as much we are concerned about her
rights to work and go to school. The other major issue will be taxation. I
hope that you are able to point us in the right direction.

If she has her PR card, she is entitled to anything Canadian except the right to vote.
If she does not have her PR card, she is only entitled to visit and cannot work, does not qualify for medical and would have to pay non-resident fees for education, etc.
She is taxable on her world income the day she came to Canada with an application for PR in place.
That is quick and dirty.
